9″ x 12″ $400
11″ x 14″ $425
12″ x 16″ $450

Each additional face $200. Complex backgrounds may also add to the price.
Portraits containing more than one face are available in size 11″x14″ and larger.
Standard sized paintings such as the sizes listed above are available on your choice of canvas board (lighter weight, recommended for larger portraits) or poplar wood board (heavier weight and thicker). Both options will fit easily into standard frames.
Non-standard sized paintings will be created on specially prepared Arches Oil Paper.
Please Note: Rush jobs or complex backgrounds may add to the pricing. A rush job would be anything fewer than two weeks’ lead-time for charcoal/graphite portraits and two months’ lead-time for oil paintings. Ask for details.
Pricing for portrait commissions is based on:
- What you want in the portrait (how many faces, complexity of background)
- What size you want your portrait to be
- Whether you want your portrait on stretched canvas, canvas board or on specialized paper
- Whether you want a rush job or normal timing. Note that a rush job may not be possible for an oil painting since oil needs time to dry
- What’s a rush job? fewer than two months lead-time for an oil painting and fewer then two weeks for a charcoal or graphite portrait
A $200 non-refundable deposit is due before start of commission; the remainder is due upon completion. Prices do not include framing services; I can frame your portrait for an additional fee or your portrait will be sent to you to frame to your preference. I’m happy to give more specifics once we know what you want your portrait to look like. View a sample of the basic commission contract here.
Pricing for Commissions that include a Mastercopy will also vary depending on the complexity of the piece you want incorporated. The painting you want copied needs to be in the Public Domain (legally available for artwork). Mastercopies with one additional face or figure start at $400; contact me for more details.
From our baby beginnings, we love to look at faces. What we see can comfort and inspire us.
My art sets out to capture the emotions and expressions of faces we love, especially faces that are no longer with us, or furry friends that make us smile. I want to offer a Presence, so that people may always feel the love in sight of their portrait.
